Bridal Muse: Jane Birkin
Jane Birkin, the woman who seemed to have invented the term ‘effortless’.
From the simple basket bag, the sheer dress or the classic Birkin bag, Jane’s style can always be brought back to one word; simple. Her wedding to Serge Gainsbourg was no exception. With the white crochet dress, flowers in her hair and bare feet, she created a look of her own. Simplistic, easy and iconic. Following the ceremony and stepping into the evening, she slipped into another crochet lace dress, this one opening down her torso and held together with a black brooch.
